Call for papers (PDF)

All papers as well as session proposals must be submitted electronically through PaperPlaza. In accordance with IEEE requirements, only PDF files will be accepted. In addition to regular papers, the 46th CDC will also have invited sessions, industry focused tutorial sessions, and interactive sessions with practical demonstrations. Please contact chairs for corresponding areas of the Technical Program for further information. Please note that the conference language is English, all submissions must be written in English. (Jim Spall, Program Chair)

Regular Papers:

Papers are invited in the form of regular manuscripts (allotted 6 Proceedings pages). Note that short manuscripts are not considered. Papers must be submitted through the conference submission website (PaperPlaza) and must conform to the submission policy requiring that all manuscripts be in 2-column format and meet strict page limits. For the purpose of review only, manuscripts may be up to eight (8) pages long. However, normal length for the final manuscript is limited to six (6) pages. Papers exceeding the normal length may be submitted upon payment of overlength page charges of USD 175.00 for each page in excess of six. A maximum of two extra pages above normal six are permitted for regular papers, invited session papers and interactive session papers. (Thomas Parisini, Chair: Conference Editorial Board)

Invited Sessions:

Proposals are sought from those wishing to organize an invited session. An invited session consists of six papers, which should present a unifying theme from a diversity of viewpoints. Proposals for invited sessions are submitted through the conference submission website (PaperPlaza), and must contain a Summary Statement describing the motivation and relevance of the proposed session, accompanied by FULL versions of each invited paper.

Invited papers are allotted 6 Proceedings pages, and must conform to the CDC submission policy; ABSTRACTS of invited papers will NOT be accepted. Please note that each paper in a proposed invited session will be individually reviewed, and that the proposed invited session itself will also be rated as a whole.

To ensure the continuity of the program and that papers addressing similar issues are grouped together, at the discretion of the Program Committee, individual papers may be removed from a proposed session and replaced by appropriate contributed papers. Likewise, selected papers from rejected invited sessions may be placed into the regular program. (, Andrew Teel, Vice-Chair: Invited Sessions)

Invited Interactive Sessions:

The 46th CDC will accept invited papers under the category: "Invited Interactive Sessions." In addition to regular invited sessions, proposals are sought from those wishing to organize an "invited interactive session." An invited interactive session will consist of between ten (10) to fifteen (15) papers, which should present a unifying theme from a diversity of viewpoints. The arrangements and rules governing Invited Interactive sessions are the similar to regular invited sessions, with the following notes: As with regular invited sessions, all papers will be reviewed, and appear in the proceedings. Presentations will be interactive (i.e. poster, plus preferably some sort of simulation or software demonstration). In addition, at the start of a session the organizers will make an overview presentation lasting 15-20 minutes.

The sessions can contain up to 15 presentations (this leaves much more flexibility than requiring exactly 6 presentations to fit the timing requirements of oral sessions). Each Invited Interactive Session accepted will have a room devoted to the session, including data projection for the overview. The deadline for submissions for invited interactive sessions will be later than for regular submission and is set to March 15, 2007.

Invited interactive papers are allotted 6 Proceedings pages, and must conform to the CDC submission policy; ABSTRACTS of invited papers will NOT be accepted. Please note that each paper in a proposed invited interactive session will be individually reviewed, and that the proposed invited session itself will also be rated as a whole. (John Watkins, Vice-Chair: Invited Interactive Sessions)

Tutorial and Special Sessions

The 46th CDC will include Tutorial and Special Sessions. The Tutorial Sessions will typically feature a one-hour tutorial presentation followed by a series of short presentations from industrial or application-oriented participants discussing the implementation, application, and benefits of the techniques (other session formats will be considered as well). In this context, new and emerging application areas would be of particular interest - for example, finance, climate change and renewable energy, health care, nanotechnology, defense systems, etc. Special Sessions should be of general interest and broad appeal to a diverse group of CDC attendees; the format of the Special Sessions does not necessarily have to be the same as for the Tutorial Sessions - more flexibility can be allowed. A manuscript/report on the Tutorial or Special session will be allocated a maximum of 15 pages in the book of proceedings. All session proposals (Tutorial or Special) will be reviewed by the CDC Operating Committee or others as appropriate; enough information must be provided upon submission to allow for an informed review. Persons interested in submitting proposals are requested to contact the appropriate Vice Chair (fnchowdh@louisiana.edu) prior to submitting a formal proposal. (Fahmida Chowdhury, Vice-Chair: Tutorial and Special Sessions)
